Welcome to PDF-TOOL (the "Site"). Please read these Terms carefully before using the Site. By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms in full.

1. Service Description

The Site is a free, browser-based suite of PDF tools providing merging, splitting, rotation, conversion, compression, editing, signing, OCR and other features.

All file processing happens locally in your browser. Your documents are never uploaded to the Site or any third-party server.

The Site is built on open-source software; licensing information is provided in the Open Source Licenses notice.

2. Eligibility

The Site requires no registration. You represent that you have reached the age of legal capacity in your jurisdiction, or that you use the Site with the consent and supervision of a guardian.

You agree to comply with all laws and regulations applicable to your use of the Site.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Site:

1. to process files you have no right to process, or in any way that infringes copyrights, privacy, trade secrets or other lawful rights of any third party;

2. for any activity that violates applicable laws, including creating, processing or distributing unlawful content;

3. for abusive bulk downloading of site resources (such as engine files) via automated scripts, crawlers or attacks;

4. to interfere with or disrupt the operation of the Site, or to circumvent any security or restriction measures.

If you breach these rules, the operator may restrict or deny your access to the Site.

4. Intellectual Property

The interface design, code and branding of the Site are owned by the Site operator.

All rights in documents you process through the Site remain with you or the original rights holders; the Site claims no rights over them and never collects, stores or analyzes your document content.

Third-party open-source components used by the Site are owned by their respective holders and used under their respective licenses.

5. Service Changes & Availability

The Site is provided "as is" without any commitment to uninterrupted or error-free availability.

The operator may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Site at any time without notice.

The operator is not liable for service interruptions caused by force majeure or failures of third-party infrastructure (such as CDN or hosting services).

6. Donations & Fees

The Site is currently free of charge. Voluntary donations do not constitute a purchase of any goods or services and are, unless mandatory law provides otherwise, non-refundable.

If paid features are introduced in the future, the Site will clearly announce them in advance on the Site.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages (including loss of data or profits) arising from the use of, or inability to use, the Site.

You acknowledge that the accuracy of processing results depends on the input files and the engines used; please verify results before use. See the Disclaimer for details.

8. Changes to These Terms

The operator may update these Terms from time to time. Updated versions will be published on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.

Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms; for material changes, the Site will try to provide prominent notice.

9. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the operator's place of business.

Disputes arising from these Terms shall first be resolved through friendly negotiation; failing that, they shall be submitted to the competent authority at the operator's location.
